Standard Warranty Terms

Fireplaces

A firebox is guaranteed for domestic application only against faults and defects in workmanship for a period of fifteen years, excluding consumables (see guide below). This firebox cover is subject to proof of annual inspection and servicing by a
suitably qualified fire technician as per the annual maintenance guide. Fires must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, any relevant bylaws, and regulations to meet the New Zealand AS/NZS2918:2001 standard.

1 Year Warranty:
Consumables (fire bricks, baffles, secondary air tubes, glass, glass and door seals, downdraft cylinders), exterior
finishes (Paint and enamel finishes, door handles) and water boosters supplied by Flaming Fires.

5 Year Warranty:
Fire box, flue kits (Specific Flues), air slides, top panels, air vents/louvers and some zero clearance cabinets.

10 Year Warranty:
Firebox of appliance (spigot, internal floor, roof and walls of firebox).

What is covered?

  • Flaming Fires will cover any manufacturing fault deemed to originate from production. The appliance is warranted for use under normal
    domestic application, adhering to the guidelines per the operating instructions supplied with the appliance.
  • Repair or replacement of faulty parts that are within the warranty terms and coverage period.
  • Consumers may have additional rights as per the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
  • Labour and freight costs associated with the repair/replacement of a firebox (labour costs for refitting parts is not covered).

What is NOT covered

  • Flaming Fires is not responsible for any consequential damage (eg. smoke damage, leakage from wetbacks or fire) by a failure or defect covered in this guarantee.
  • Damages caused by weather, environment or an act of god is not covered under this manufacturer guarantee.
  • Any damage caused by mishandling, misuse, abuse, alteration or failure to follow product operation instructions is not covered by this guarantee, neither is normal wear and tear or damage as a result of failure to complete maintenance as per the annual maintenance guide supplied with the appliance.
  • Accessories such as non-genuine parts or any third-party service are not covered by this manufacturer guarantee.
  • Flaming Fires is not liable for defects or malfunctions due to incorrect or poor installation, nor liable for costs associated with a non
    standard installation requirement.
  • Damages caused by the burning of treated or painted wood, driftwood or other fuels which are not recommended.
  • Scratching, smudging and rusting to the exterior finishings is not covered under this manufacturer guarantee.
  • Any repairs undertaken without the manufacturer’s authority will render the warranty void.

Barbeques / Smokers

What is covered?

  • Repair or replacement of faulty parts (associated labour costs are not covered) that are within the warranty terms and
    coverage period.
  • Consumers may have additional rights as per the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

What is NOT covered?

  • Any failures or operating difficulties due to accident, abuse, misuse, alteration, misapplication, vandalism, improper
    installation or improper maintenance or service.
  • Failure to perform normal and routine maintenance, including but not limited to damage caused by insects within the burner
    tubes, as specified in the owner's manual.
  • Deterioration or damage due to severe weather conditions such as hail, hurricanes, earthquakes or tornadoes, discoloration
    due to exposure to chemicals either directly or in the atmosphere.
  • Flaming Fires is not responsible for any consequential damage (eg. smoke damage or fire) by a failure or defect covered in this guarantee.
  • Flaming Fires is not liable for freight or transportation costs.
  • Removal or re-installation costs, service calls and labour costs for installation/repair are not covered under this warranty.
  • Scratching, peeling and rusting to the exterior and interior finishings is not covered under this manufacturer guarantee.
